Dr. Leonel Perez is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at the Center for Dentofacial Aesthetics in Annandale, VA and serves as the program director at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice at the University of Texas at San Antonio and his Master of Science at the University of Texas–Pan American. Afterward, Dr. Perez went on to the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he obtained his doctor of dental surgery and doctor of medicine degrees. It was at that same university that he went on to complete a one-year internship in general surgery, followed by his oral and maxillofacial surgery training.
Dr. Perez has close to a decade of experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery and is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. His areas of expertise include orthognathic surgery, craniofacial surgery, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery and reconstruction, bone grafting surgeries, facial trauma reconstruction surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, and cleft lip and palate surgeries. With his combined education and research, Dr. Perez has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed surgical journals and has given many presentations over the past years.

I had had my trust in doctors shattered after experiencing some issues from a jaw procedure years earlier and I was gaslit by multiple providers because I have a rare, poorly understood titanium allergy. The Center for DentoFacial Aesthetics is an incredible dental office. Their dentist, Dr. Aggarwal, is the most skilled dentist I have ever had. He has all the latest equipment for all kinds of procedures. He also takes classes and attends conferences to keep up with the latest technology.He installed his own crown making laboratory. Using a hand held wand, he makes an image of the mouth and crown area (no gooey molds). This image is then converted into instructions for the crown milling machine. Dr. Aggarwal's crowns fit perfectly with little or no additional adjustment necessary.When I needed two adjacent molar crowns, he went above and beyond to ensure that I understood the procedure and took the time to answer all my questions. Dr. Aggarwal is conservative in his treatments. He explains the benefits, risks, and costs for each option. He solicits patient input and creates a treatment plan to assure a successful outcome.The coordination with Dr. Perez, the implant specialist was seamless. Once the two implants healed, Dr. Aggarwal designed two connected crowns that fit perfectly.He also stands behind his work. When a molar crown cracked, he ordered a replacement gold crown that would stand the pressure of my night time grinding.I highly recommend this practice for all your dental needs.
Excellent practice. Dr. Aggarwal and Dr. Perez are highly skilled, professional, and actually care about their patients. The staff are stellar. If you want service done right at an affordable price with people who care, this is the go to dental practice.
